Network error - Error code: 0x80070005. Access is denied

If you get this message when you try to access a shared folder on your network, just follow the steps below to work around the problem.

Go to the computer that is sharing out the folder you want.

  1. Right-click on the folder you want to share.
  2. Click on "Properties" (bottom)
  3. Click on "Security" tab (third from left at the top)
  4. Click on "Add"
  5. Click on "Advanced"
  6. Click on "Find Now" (mid right side)
  7. Click on "Everyone" and then click "OK" button and then "OK" again.
  8. Click "Apply" and then "OK".

It works every time!
