Change the look of a folder to your own preference
Personally I always change the look of my favourite folders to make them easier to spot by changing the icon. This is the way to do it.
- Right-click on your favourite folder
- Click on “Properties”
- Click on the “Customize” tab (last one on the right)
- Click on “Change Icon”
- Now browse and select an icon that seems more meaningful to you for that particular folder
- Click on it
- Click “OK”
- Now click “Apply”
- Click “Ok”
You’re done! Now you’ll be able to spot it more quickly among all the other generic folders. You can do this for as many folders as you like.
I would not advise this for individual files, however! If you change the look of a file rather than a folder, the change applies to all files of that type. This means that if you change the icon of a document, from then on ALL of your documents will have that particular icon!
